How Simple Is It to Repair an iPhone Screen?

iPhone Screen Repair - How easy is it to replace your iPhone screen yourself?

Is it really possible to repair an iPhone screen yourself? We will take a look at how much technical knowledge you require to carry out an iPhone screen repair Adelaide.

It goes without saying that the most common iPhone problem users experience is a cracked screen. Since iPhones are quite a delicate piece of technology, and the fact that the touch screen is made of glass, it is likely that if dropped, the iPhone screen will break. So what do you do? Search on eBay for a replacement screen.

The replacement screens sold on eBay come with the required parts and tools needed for a successful screen replacement. However, how good are they?

From extensive experience in repairing and replacing iPhone screens, I can say that the tools sold on eBay are pretty much useless. The tools that are required are a Phillips screwdriver, a razor blade, or other wedging and scraping tool, tweezers, scissors and either double sided tape or superglue.

The fist step is to turn the phone off and remove the sim tray. Then with a Phillips screw driver remove the 2 screws at the bottom of the iPhone. This will allow you to remove the back cover. Unscrew the battery connector that is holding the battery in place and remove the connector and battery. The battery is glued in so you need to pull hard.

You need to remove 5 more screws on the top of the iPhone holding the shield in place. Remove the shield very carefully, as there are two hinges - The shield loops into and under these hinges. This itself is quite difficult, as you will need to be very careful not to damage the internal ribbons and components while removing this.

There are more screws and ribbons that need removing. The iPhone camera itself needs taking out completely along with the speaker and microphone.

It is actually very simple to plug in the new iPhone screen, as it is just a ribbon you connect onto the motherboard. However, it is extremely difficult to put all the parts back together in their correct places, and more importantly put the screens back in the correct places as they are all different sizes.

At this stage it is more likely than not, that a person without much technical knowledge has either damaged a motherboard ribbon, or is completely lost on how to put back the iPhone.
